Fume Hood.

A fume hood is a piece of laboratory equipment intended to shield users from the potentially harmful results of an experiment. This is accomplished mostly by keeping the air within the fume hood away from the experimenters. Fume hoods can provide additional features and precautions that are beneficial in a laboratory setting.

Basically, a fume hood is a ventilated enclosure that captures and removes gases, vapours, and fumes from the work area. An exhaust fan on the roof of the laboratory building draws in air and airborne pollutants through attached ducting and exhausts them to the atmosphere.
